A computer animator must have both artistic ability and computer skills to properly perform their job. They will start with a basic drawing and use the computer to modify the picture, oftentimes turning it into a three-dimensional model. Using advanced computer technology, the animator will slowly make the necessary changes to the model to create a moving picture. This process still takes a long time to complete and requires meticulous work to make the movie appear realistic. Some computer animators specialize in certain sectors of the process, such as character development, storyboard creation or creating the scenes and setting.

How To Become a Computer Animator?

To become a computer animator is it typically required that you obtain a two or-four degree in computer animation. Many colleges and universities across the country offer this major, along with most art schools. Students will take an array of art, computer, and graphic design courses before earning their degree. Upon graduation from a higher learning institution, students will know all aspects of computer animation and be ready to begin a full-time career in this field.

There are many places that hire computer animators, including television studios, movie production companies, video game developing companies and marketing agencies. This job is in high demand at all levels and offers plenty of room for job advancement that comes with experience.
